Toshimaen Station (豊島園)
A station of this name has stood here since 15 October 1927, when it opened as Toshima; it was renamed Toshimaen on 1 March 1933 after the amusement park beside it. The subway came much later. E36 opened on 10 December 1991 on what was then Toei Line 12, renamed the Oedo Line on 20 April 2000, with its island platform at B3, the ticket hall at B1 and two entrances, A1 and A2. Platform doors came into use on 12 January 2013.
The park the station is named after closed on 31 August 2020, and the ground it stood on has become Nerima-jo-shi Park and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter, which opened on 25 April 2023; the street-level station building was remodeled that year to look like Hogsmeade. Use fell when the park shut and has climbed well past where it had been: 8,579 people a day in 2021, 14,294 in 2024.
Finding Toshimaen on the signs
Every line gives the station its own letter-and-number code. You never have to read the Japanese name to find the right platform.
Station numbers at Toshimaen
Tokyo signposts every platform, exit and train door with a letter and a two-digit number. Matching the number is faster than reading the name — and it is what you will see on the map, in announcements and on the platform edge.

Departure times come from the operators’ own GTFS timetables (ODPT GTFS Toei-Train-GTFS (version 20261009, valid 2026-03-14..2027-03-12) + TokyoMetro-Train-GTFS (version 20261008, valid 2026-09-19..2027-03-12)). Japan publishes two subway timetables: 平日 weekdays and 土休日 Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. There is no separate Sunday timetable, and the December 30 – January 3 period runs the holiday timetable.
