Ochiai-minami-nagasaki Station (落合南長崎)
The double name records an argument about geography. Plans in 1972 called the station Nishi-ochiai; during construction it was to be Minami-Nagasaki, after the Toshima ward district; in the end it took both, because the station stands on the boundary and the ground above belongs to Nishi-ochiai on the Shinjuku side and Minami-nagasaki on the Toshima side. E33 opened on 19 December 1997, when Line 12 was extended from Nerima to Shinjuku, and the line became the Oedo Line on 20 April 2000.
It is the westernmost and northernmost station Shinjuku ward has. The island platform and its concourse curve gently, following the junction above where Mejiro-dori, Shin-Mejiro-dori and Shin-Ome-kaido meet. Two entrances served the station at first; a third, A3, opened on 30 March 2012 connected to a shopping building on the opposite side. Nakai and Shin-egota are the neighboring stations.

Frequently asked questions
It sits on a ward boundary. The land on the Shinjuku side is Nishi-ochiai and on the Toshima side Minami-nagasaki; the plan of 1972 proposed Nishi-ochiai and the construction name was Minami-Nagasaki, so the two were combined to avoid favoring either ward.
The Toshima City Tokiwaso Manga Museum, about 260 m from the exits, with Tokiwaso Park and a preserved telephone box from the site alongside it. It is the main visitor destination in an otherwise quiet corner of the two wards.
