H06 is the newest station on the Tokyo subway. Its name was announced on 5 December 2018 and it opened on 6 June 2020, built directly under National Route 1 on the west side of the Toranomon Hills complex, with an underground plaza on either side of it created by the redevelopment above. It had been intended to open in time for the 2020 Olympic Games, with the rest of its works following later.

It is also the only Hibiya Line station Tokyo Metro has built as a company: every other one dates from the days of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority, which was wound up in 2004. Adding it forced a renumbering, because H06 already belonged to Kasumigaseki. When Toranomon-hills took the number, the numbers of every station from Kasumigaseki through to Kita-senju were adjusted to match. An underground passage links it to Toranomon on the Ginza Line, and the operators treat the pair as one transfer. Use has climbed quickly, from 18,846 people a day in 2020 to 64,929 in 2025.

Finding Toranomon-hills on the signs

Every line gives the station its own letter-and-number code. You never have to read the Japanese name to find the right platform.

Station numbers at Toranomon-hills
